Maintenance Team Leader


Purpose:
The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for the safe direction, supervision and development of Electrical and Mechanics in the maintenance and troubleshooting of Distillation and Production equipment. The Maintenance Team Leader is accountable for delivering the Maintenance KPI’s.

Decision Making:
Allocation of resources, establishment of priorities in the maintenance of the site while taking into consideration production and resource constraints; Manage the performance and assess employee capability to problem solve and troubleshoot Distillation and Production equipment.

Financial Responsibility: The Maintenance Team leader is responsible for managing the maintenance labor and expense budget.

Management Responsibility:
Leads, directs, supervises and develops Electricians and Mechanics; Coordinates all Maintenance activities throughout the site.

Complexity of Role
Manages 14 Electricians and Mechanics; Knowledge of company policies, labor contracts and ability to administer both effectively; Interview, hire, and performance manage employees; Develop the skill trades employees to perform as a self directed work team; Develop the skill trades employees to effectively troubleshoot; Ability to write and execute capital projects; Knowledge of regulatory Health and Safety, Environmental, Fire Protection and Risk Management policies and manage direct and indirect reports to compliance.

Key Outputs/Deliverables:
Lead the development of an empowered and self directed maintenance dept including promoting and encouraging the use of formal problem solving concepts/techniques; Develop and administer preventive maintenance program for production equipment; Maintain parts and storeroom within budgeted guidelines; Maintain electrical drawings and other line documentation; Act as a plant liaison for corporate engineering equipment purchases impacting the plant; Create and maintain a safe work environment; Perform mechanical and electrical skill assessment and develop training program for staff; Identify capital projects to improve production efficiencies, reduce material loss, improve quality, safety, housekeeping, GMP and other related KPI’s; Assess the priority of work to be performed; Develop and maintain work order system; Facilitate, motivate and promote good working relationships.

Experience:
5 - 8 years experience as a Maintenance Supervision in a Manufacturing environment; Technical degree (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering) preferred; Demonstrated supervisory ability with excellent verbal and written communication skills; Proven ability to lead, engage, influence, coach and resolve conflict; Experience in a fast pace, empowered workforce environment preferred; Computer literate.
