Morocco Regional Director North Africa and Middle East

REGIONAL DIRECTOR

Established in 1949, SOS Children's Villages is a dynamic social development organisation working globally to meet the needs and protect the interests and rights of orphaned and vulnerable children. SOS Children’s Villages International is the umbrella organisation that provides support and guidance to member associations in over 132 countries worldwide. Working throughout Africa and the Middle East, SOS Children’s Villages is in the process of recruiting a Regional Director for the Regional Office North Africa and the Middle East. Based in Casablanca and travelling regularly to the countries within the region, the Regional Director will ensure the development of strong, locally rooted member associations, soundly affiliated to the SOS-Kinderdorf International federation. The Regional Director will report directly to the Continental Director.

THE CHALLENGE

  • Leadership and management of the Regional Office
  • Support National Management Development and Organisational Development
  • Ensuring governance development in member associations
  • Ensuring the roll-out and execution of the global strategy, policies, processes and projects
  • Contribute to the development of the Continental Management Team
  • Managing performance and ensuring learning & development of direct reports
  • Planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation
  • Lobbying and networking with relevant stakeholders in the region

YOUR PROFILE

  • Proven track record in general management and leadership in one or more countries in Africa and the Middle East, exposure to performing in a complex environment and dealing with multi-national teams
  • At least 5 years of work experience in a leadership and management position in an international setting and diverse environment
  • Excellent personal & communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong teams and a positive approach to networking and teamwork
  • Good analytical, organisational and negotiation skills
  • Ethical standards, integrity, objectivity, confidence and the ability to get the respect of peers and line managers
  • Fluency in English and French; Arab is an asset
  • Willingness to travel frequently, up to 30% of the month
