Job Description

Scope

Performance and Accountability Adviser will seek to systematically strengthen the planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting standards and practices of our international programmes, enhancing their quality and impact and ensuring accountability to our key stakeholders (beneficiaries, National Societies, donors). The Adviser will be located in the Humanitarian Policy (HP) Team reporting to the Performance and Accountability Manager, and working closely with the Performance and Accountability Field Adviser.

The Adviser will develop and promote the International project/programme management methodology, including the BRC approach to Accountability to Beneficiaries (AtB). He/she will coordinate key relationships on planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting (PMER) related issues, and ensure that international programme dependencies are met through performance and accountability adviser field deployments and supporting/training Divisional staff.

The Adviser will also work alongside the Programme and Information Management System Project Manager, the Learning & Policy Support Officer and programme teams to ensure and promote good practice in PMER and AtB, and work with the Humanitarian Policy Advisers to ensure that policies are reflected in programmes and that programmatic learning is captured to feed into policy thinking.

Purpose of the post

To improve the quality, accountability, impact, and capacity to learn of BRC's international programming through effective planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of programmes and projects.

The Performance and Accountability Adviser will enhance the quality and impact of programmes through the development and promotion of effective use of polices and programme management tools and standards, dissemination of good practice, and ensuring accountability to beneficiaries, volunteers, partners and donors.

The Adviser will be responsible for developing humanitarian project management and accountability standards. The Adviser will focus on improving learning at UK Office level as well as on analysis of data on programme performance, and otherwise strengthening International performance management.

Salary: Up to £33,000 inc ILW
