Regional Finance and Operations Manager

Salary: £39,317 per annum (more for an exceptional candidate), plus excellent benefits, including childcare vouchers salary sacrifice scheme, non-contributory pension scheme of 10% of gross annual salary, season ticket loan, subsidised gym membership, 25 holidays days per year plus English statutory holidays

Based: London

You will be responsible for ensuring the robustness of Alert’s Africa Programme financial and operational management systems, in order to: 1) guarantee the integrity of the programme; and 2) enable the programme to keep pace with new demands.

We are looking for a senior level ‘systems thinker’ with highly developed communication skills and a talent for presenting technical (finance and admin) information, tools and concepts in an accessible way, including to non-technical staff. This will cover all aspects of financial accounting and reporting, management of sub-grants and partner relations, human resources and office management/ security, as well as internal communications. You will also have an ability to build the kind of relationships, both internally and externally, that will gain cooperation and constructively ensure compliance.

You will contribute to the strategic evolution of the newly created Africa Programme alongside other members of the AP management team.

Along with 3 years’ experience of grants management in an INGO environment and a financial qualification (ACCA or equivalent) you will be fluent in spoken English and French, with an understanding of both Anglophone and Francophone systems of accounting and employment legislation.
