Senior News Producers/Package Producers

Devoted to Honest, Bold and Courageous journalism, Al Jazeera is the most exciting 24 hour English language news channel in the world – with a growing audience in the Americas. We have immediate openings for experienced Package Producers in our Washington DC Broadcast Centre.

These Package Producers will be required to:

• Create content for live news programmes, in the newsroom and in the field.
• Act primarily as an in-house reporter,
• As senior members of the output team you will be given responsibility for key sequences in the rundown – writing lead-ins, commissioning graphics, and cutting pictures.
• On occasion, you will be deployed into the field, either working as a producer to a correspondent or on your own as a reporter.

The successful candidates will be experienced producers, with excellent writing skills, strong broadcast voices and the ability to perform live. Substantial practical experience of working on TV news programmes is critical. Knowledge of the Americas would be an advantage. Experience of working in the field with camera crews and reporters is advantageous.
