Senior Specialist: Insurance Litigation

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Managing all aspects of claims and related administration in accordance with the insurance placements and policy terms.
  • Ensuring that all claims are recorded in accordance with the agreed inner excesses, stop losses and aggregates.
  • Ensuring that comprehensive files are maintained of all claims for internal and insurer review.
  • Submitting monthly schedules and statistics to the insurers and brokers. Payments of group insurance premiums.
  • Liaising with attorneys on matters requiring litigation.
  • Compiling complex claims documentation (including business interruption) for review with insurers and loss adjusters.
  • Ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Setting departmental objectives and measuring progress.
  • Managing and resolving of all insurance related queries efficiently. Creating statistical reports of all nature of losses for use risk in risk reports.
  • Investigations into the claims, evaluation, and subsequent settlement of claims with input/approval from the Group Insurance Manager where required.
  • Responsibility includes the maintenance of proper documentation to support payment of claims.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

LLB Degree is required Must have at least 8 years experience in insurance management and related, claims and litigation.

A thorough understanding of all aspects of insurance and interpretation of policy documentation. Demonstrated ability to successfully plan and execute projects.

Admitted attorney.
