Sourcing Specialist

The South African Maritime Safety Authority (“SAMSA”) is a Schedule 3A Public Entity with its offices situated in Brooklyn, Pretoria. The following position is currently available:

SOURCING SPECIALIST
Regional Office, Cape Town

The objective of this position is to ensure compliance with SAMSA’s procurement policies and procedures, including the support of businesses owned by historically disadvantaged persons (HDP).

Key functions:

• Compile specifications, together with the end user, in order to source quotations/proposals
• Ensure that requirements are approved before the sourcing of same
• Deal with correspondence during the sourcing, evaluation and approval of quotations and proposals
• Follow the procurement process in evaluating quotations/proposals
• Compile procurement submission reports
• Send responses to participants (award/regret letters)
• Create orders and issue requests for the signing approval of orders/contracts (SLAs).

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications relevant to Supply Chain Management (SCM)
• At least 5 years’ experience in the field of supply chain management.
