Compliance Manager

The Compliance Manager will assist in helping Diageo drive best in class compliance practices. Specifically, the Compliance Manager will help drive compliance initiatives, including those related to the Diageo Code of Business Conduct and employment law. The Compliance Manager will manage the legal pre-approval process for gifts and entertainment with government officials. He or she will act as a consultant and resource to the business with respect to questions, consulting and training. He or she will participate in, and ensure compliance in the design and development of policies, procedures, processes and training programs. The Compliance Manager will stay abreast of new and pending laws and regulations, such as Dodd-Frank which directly affect company practices and work with affected areas to ensure appropriate compliance and communication. The Compliance Manager will assist in conducting audits and performing compliance risk assessments, collaborating with the business teams to address necessary risks. The Compliance Manager will generally support legal policies including those related to bribery, anti-money laundering, privacy, labor and employment law, and will support and/or lead miscellaneous projects relating to the foregoing. The Compliance Manager will also provide labor and employment support including related to litigation, EEOC matters, labor and employment legislation, and subpoenas.

8. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain key relationships, including with in-house counsel, outside counsel, opposing counsel, regulatory authorities and business clients
9. Demonstrated ability to influence and work effectively with legal and business personnel at all levels and establish and maintain credibility and trust throughout the organization
10. Ability to manage issues in a professional, assertive and proactive manner
11. Ability to conduct trainings and/or compliance audits and assist with large, complex projects with minimal supervision
12. Strong team-oriented approach and strong sense of personal accountability and drive

Experience
BS or BA required
Paralegal certificate or JD optional
4-6 years of compliance experience
Beverage Alcohol or consumer products experience preferred, but not required
Skills
Excellent organizational, project management, interpersonal and computer skills. Displays a “can do” and pro-active attitude and a passion for Diageo brands.
