Job Purpose
The role require the potentially successful candidate to analyse, interpret and form judgement on an array of complex financial data, then applying learning to complex financial questions which ultimately result in direct decisions or recommending decisions to management.
  • Drive Finance strategies and priorities and assist FD in achievement of objectives
  • Drive performance through effective business analysis
  • Identify financial performance risks and help management to implement mitigating strategies.
  • Analysis of financial data and economic trends to monitor performance and provide critical areas of focus for regional management
  • Set standards of quality and control quality of financial data, reports and commentary.
  • Review and analyse trends in consolidated information to formulate a view on relevance, accuracy and consistency of data.
  • BP&A: Set medium (3 years) and short term (1 year) strategic performance plans for business. Also responsible to verify the strategic plans across all business functions (Corporate, Retail and Treasury).
  • Challenge and direct business to achieve relevant level of performance as required by committed targets in the short and medium term.
  • Report on and explain areas of inconsistent performance to senior management.
  • BP&A responsible for all aspects around financial reporting, financial diligence, forecasting, strategic performance plan, cost management and control.
  • New product evaluation, setting performance goals and ensuring correct accounting treatment of all new products rolled out, in conjunction with your finance colleagues
  • BP&A responsible for the preparation and presentation of monthly financial reports to Regional Management.
  • BP&A: Development of Strategic performance management tools that will allow information granularity on which Management can base decisions
  • Engage other pillars of the business, ensuring that financial data are consistently applied
Main Accountabilities
Business Performance
Outputs:
  • Drive the FD and Finance strategic priorities
  • Interpret, analyse, scrub and clean financial data
  • Develop reporting packs and discussion documents
  • BP&A: Responsible for forecasting and RAF
  • Promote strategic planning within the business, track delivery and embed strategic priorities
  • BP&A: Develop one and three year financial plans and link current to targets in definable steps
  • Report on performance
  • Embed STP at a granular level and monthly performance reviews
  • Report financial performance risks
  • Tracking of actual performance to targets and initiatives
Business Analytics
  • Management reporting and business reviews
  • Generate insight driven MI for business consumption
  • Develop financial plans in response to insights
  • Balance Sheet review
  • Review of processes and procedures for control and efficiency
System Improvement
  • Drive monthly BAU improvement to current system architecture
  • One version of the truth, once (BRAINS = SAP = TM1 = AFS = CBS = Management Reports)
