FLIGHT INSPECTOR - Civil Aviation Authority

The SACAA, a key player in the international arena, seeks to promote and maintain a safe and secure civil aviation environment in South Africa. To meet its mandate for regulating and overseeing the functioning of the industry in an efficient, cost-effective, sustainable and customer friendly manner, the SACAA seeks the following key individual:

FLIGHT INSPECTOR

The successful candidate will undertake flight inspections on radio navigational aids to ICAO recommendations, in order to ensure flight safety in the Civil Aviation sector.

Main outputs:

  • Plan and execute flight inspection missions
  • Collate inspection data for reporting purposes and accurately compile flight inspection reports
  • Proactively research and develop the specific standards to be applied in the field of flight inspection of navigational aids
  • Provide industry feedback to the Authority
  • Support technological systems’ upkeep and development.

Requirements:

  • A National Diploma in Radio Engineering
  • A Radio Licence
  • 3 years’ relevant experience
  • Advanced interpersonal skills
  • Planning skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Time and project management skills
  • Accuracy
  • The ability to work in a confined aircraft environment and hazardous and challenging milieu
  • The ability to be on standby 24/7 and work unusual hours.
