AEDES, the European Agency for Development and Health, is a private consulting company specialized in public health. AEDES area of expertise covers all sectors of health, as well as a specialized niche in information systems for food security, which AEDES contributed modeling through various projects implemented since the 80s.

Created in 1985, AEDES has become the leader of a group of organizations comprising a Foundation [www.fondationaedes.org], recognized as a public utility charity in Belgium and a limited company GEMELLI [www.gemelli.be] specialized in hospital management in Europe.

FRAMEWORK CONTRACT and PROJECT MANAGER

You will be managing Framework contracts within the Public Health Sector financed by international Donors.

Specific Tasks

Project Management, resource planning, building and continually motivating the best experts available within a specific sector, selection of candidates, reviewing CVs, development of financial proposals, budgeting and cost control, supervising the financial aspects of all projects, approving incoming invoices, providing general back-office support to field staff, coordinating progress meetings with consortium partners, ensuring formal communications with the client, establishing and developing good relations with partners and experts, field-visit on some of the assignments.

The position is based in Brussels, Belgium. The intended start is June 1st.

Requested profile job requirements

To be successful in this role you will need to be dedicated, a proven team player and where necessary be able to work completely independently. You will be required to demonstrate a combination of flair, interpersonal skills, disciplines and the ability to face up to decisions. As a project manager at AEDES you must be aware that significant expectations and accountability will be placed on you and you should be able to manage a number of projects at any one time depending on size and complexity.

It is essential that you are able to establish and maintain effective relationships with AEDES partners, Client's representatives and stakeholders ensuring that Client's needs are understood and exceeded. A proven track record in FWC management and Project Management is an advantage. Experience with EU and/or international donor financed projects is desirable. Experience and knowledge of the Public Health Sector in beneficiary countries of EU external aid will be a definite advantage.

Competencies

The following competences and skills are required:

  • A university Degree in Economics, Political Science or International Relations;
  • A minimum of 5 years experience working on European Commission or other international and bilateral Donors’ service contracts preferably in the social sectors (Health, Education, Water and Sanitation);
  • Proactive personality, combined with very good diplomacy and assertive skills;
  • Business-orientated;
  • Fluency in English and French;
  • Capacity to plan and to anticipate issues;
  • Self-motivation and a sense of initiative, innovation and creativity in problem solving;
  • Capability to evaluate and prioritise;
  • High accuracy and attention to details;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Ability to work in multicultural environment/team;
  • Excellent command of MS office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
