National Director - World Vision Brazil

World Vision (WV) is a global network of people committed to enhance the well-being of children everywhere by empowering families and communities to overcome the challenges of poverty and injustice.
The National Director will strategically lead, develop and direct the implementation of all aspects of World Vision Brazil Ministry as an effective member of the World Vision Partnership to ensure high Ministry quality and high impact in the field. You will also be accountable for all of aspects of WV’s work in the country.
We are looking for a visionary leader who can combine strong business disciplines with inspirational leadership skills in line with our Christian values and ethos. You will have a passionate desire to help others, especially children.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • High Quality Operations for and with Poor and Marginalized Children, Adolescents and Youth: Implement and continuously improve the strategy for programme work in the operational model of Area Development Programs (ADPs) and other projects and programmes.
  • Advocating for the Holistic Well-being of Poor and Marginalized Children, Adolescents, and Youth: Promote the strategic positioning of WV in the country as well as its role as a trigger for the development of joint initiatives for promoting sustainable transformational development with Christian values.
  • Strategic Leadership and Administration: Lead in a way that develops and motivates efficient working teams that accomplish the goals of the World Vision ministry adhering to a high standard of personal Christian leadership and the principle of twin citizenship.
  • Economic Stability: Effective implementation of the national fundraising strategy and continuously improve it. Raising international as well as increment national funds by mobilizing Brazil’s Civil Society, churches, government and corporations to ensure a broad based and diverse income to sustain the presence and work of WV in Brazil.
SKILLS REQUIRED INCLUDE:
  • Graduate degree in Social Sciences or Administration and related fields, and/or specialization in development related areas and/or an MBA.
  • Senior executive management experience required, both nationally and internationally, demonstrating proof of responsibility and accountability.
  • Proven experience leadership and management skills in planning, implementation, and supervision of projects.
  • Knowledge and experience in financial management of multi-million USD equivalent budgets.
  • Requires ability and condition to work and travel extensively in country as well as internationally (approximately 20-40% of working time) to get very well acquainted with the project realities and attend meetings in the region and the WV Partnership.
  • Fluent in English/Portuguese, and knowledge of Spanish is preferred.
