SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Program Management Unit Vice President, the Project Director performs high level tasks and directly manages the Global Internet Policy Project, including fiscal oversight. In addition, the Director supports other programs within the Program Unit as requested.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned:

· Oversee the management and overall programmatic development of the project.

· Identify and develop new strategic partnerships and activities in target countries.

· Oversee sub-grants to partner organizations, including budgets, workplans and reporting.

· Coordinate communications and workflow among staff and partners.

· Participate in meetings and facilitate communication with primary donor.

· Prepare proposals/reports/budgets for primary donor (write, edit, proof, revise).

· Oversee design, implementation and management of the project’s M&E framework.

· Assist with programmatic development for future programs.

· Represent organization at various conferences and events.

· Promote greater collaboration with relevant organizations in the Internet Freedom sector.

· Lead writing of additional proposals and reports as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· 5+ years programmatic experience or relevant advanced degree

· Extensive international grants management experience.

· Experience and understanding of the Internet Freedom sector and related policy/regulatory issues.

· Experience with policy advocacy.

· Extensive grant proposal writing experience, and proven text-editing proficiency

· Proven ability to set priorities and manage time effectively

· Proven analytical and problem-solving ability

· Proven ability to work both independently and as an effective team member
