With a joint portfolio producing over 100 kboe/ day, our goal is to continue building a truly excellent Exploration and Production business in Offshore Europe.
Position Summary
The C&I Engineer is responsible for providing assurance that our operations are compliant with Group procedures, and that enhanced business and operational practices are adopted to achieve functional and operational excellence.

Central to all activities is the institutionalisation of safe working practices and embedding a culture of performance excellence focusing on both the “what” and the “how”.

The role report to the Principal Control & Instrument Engineer and has no direct reports.
Key Accountabilities
Every individual has a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. In addition to any specific accountabilities for HSSE, all employees are accountable for ensuring that they take care of themselves and adopt exemplary safe behaviours.

• Ensure all maintenance and operational modification activities within the Control & Instrument (Systems) discipline are carried out safely, in accordance with Company Policy and Process and to the highest standards of quality.
• Monitor maintenance performance and provide maintenance strategy improvements ensuring outputs from reliability and availability modelling are incorporated into the improvement process.
• Complete 12 monthly reviews of all SCEs and associated performance standards to ensure compliance with verification assurance methods as well as specific control system specific legislative requirements.
• Liaise with control system vendors and sub-contractors to improve equipment performance, and deliver operational and project modifications to effect fabric improvements, improve operational efficiency and increased production.
• Develop and define key contract strategy documents for maintenance activities as well as track and manage performance through monthly contract meetings and KPI’s.
• Provide guidance and direction in the preparation and implementation of service support contracts. Full technical ownership of related contracts their management and the associated cost control requirements.
• Ensure CMMS system contains a comprehensive and accurate maintenance strategy. Continually review and audit completed work orders.
• Identify safety and production critical spares to ensure minimum stock holding. Ensure at least annual reviews are embedded within maintenance procedures in order to ensure stock optimisation.
• Set agreed limits for routine and non-routine Control & Instrument backlog and take the necessary action to eliminate growth.
• Responsible for cross asset maintenance and operational support of Safety Instrumented Systems,Process Control Systems and other Utility or Package programmable systems used to protect people, the environment and equipment.
• Ensure all health care activities contained within the CMMS are integrated into the Asset Planning Systems. 
• Act as single point of contact for a number of Control System equipment health care contracts and ensure valid support contracts are in place.
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
You will be degree qualified or equivalent and preferably a Chartered Engineer or equivalent. 
You will have a high level of competency and experience of working with control systems, it would be advantageous but not essential to be fully familiar with:
• ABB Advant Master AC450/SG400/Process Portal A, including Cause and Effects and Safety Builder 
• Triconex Versions 8 and 10.5 including Tristation
• Allen Bradley PLC-5 and ControlLogix PLC based systems
You will also have a detailed working knowledge of legislative requirements for governing Functional Safety, with Certification as a Functional Safety Engineer an advantage.

In addition you will have a level of competency and experience of working with Maintenance Management Systems as well as knowledge of maintenance philosophies and strategies, inventory management and use of maintenance systems to support core processes. 

You will also:
• Have a track record of setting strategic direction for functional area.
• Have lead change projects, clearly demonstrating achievements in this area. Specific authority to challenge capability and capacity of human resource and to set standards.
• Demonstrate safety leadership and promoting a safety culture amongst all personnel.
• Have experience of optimising production from operated assets and influencing production optimisation of non-operated assets. 
• Implemented remedial actions to sustain/improve reliability/availability. Monitored production efficiency and implementing improvements.
• Have a proven record of accomplishment influencing key stakeholders and external bodies in particular partners.
Additional Information for External Candidates
This role is Aberdeen office based and however you will be required to travel to offshore installations and control system vendor sites on a frequent basis.
