The Organisation
QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets.

We are establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a carbon efficient fuel.

QGC, which is wholly owned by the British energy company BG Group, employs more than 4,300 staff and contractors. 
Position Summary
The incumbent is responsible for providing support to QGC for all category activities within Contracts & Procurement.
Key Accountabilities
Position Specific • Act as key point of contact for C&P within QGC for all Indirects categories
• Ensure compliance with BG’s and QGC’s C & P policies and procedures including Authorities and Delegations (includes the procurement of goods and services)
• Undertake analysis and review of spend and transaction data including forward demand to identify strategic contracting opportunities
• Assist Contract owners to develop contracting strategies agreed by all key stakeholders
• Compile ITTs and Evaluation Procedures necessary to implement contracting strategies and C&P plans
• Co-ordinate the bidding, evaluation and award process in accordance with agreed plans and company procedures
• Establish Contract Management Plans (CMPs) for high risk contracts
• Prepare and manage the contract review and administration process (post award) for high value, critical Indirects’ contracts
• Follow a thorough and systematic approach in managing contractual matters between company and contractor and preparing commercial and contractual correspondence during the implementation of the contracts (with appropriate use of BG’s contracts management system, Procon)
• Ensure tracking systems are maintained for all contractual correspondence
• Ensure contracts and related contractual information is stored on Procon and SAP and the information between the systems is aligned
• Identify and work to reduce any potential claims and variations to contracts
• Coordinate the investigation of claims and variations and provide written reports to support the management of claims
• Automate the purchase of goods where practical
• Approve Purchase Orders
• Coach/mentor team members
• Other activities, as required

People Management • Provide leadership, direction and supervision to the Procurement Team in QGC
• Recruit and develop a succession plan for direct reports.
• Identify and provide development activities to support performance improvement and strengthen individual and team capabilities.
• Adhere to the annual HR cycle within the appropriate timeframes.
• The incumbent will be required to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and to integrate different inputs and perspectives.

Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE) • Upholding and ensuring compliance with QGC’s HSSE requirements and business principles, both within the organisation, and with contractors/subcontractors
• Every individual has a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. In addition to any specific accountabilities for HSSE, all Contractors are accountable for HSSE within their area of the Business and are responsible for ensuring that their team (if applicable) adopt exemplary HSSE behaviours
• All QGC Contractors are expected to be aware of, and adhere to the Business Principles at all times under Conduct, Our People, Society and HSSE and to participate in relevant training 
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Experience Needed
• Substantial experience or mastery of contract management within the mining, oil and gas industries or project contracting
• Demonstrated experience in developing and executing contract strategies and plans
• Demonstrated experience in negotiating goods and services contracts
• Demonstrated experience in contract management
• In-depth experience of formulating and administering different contract types e.g., goods and services type contracts, Unit Rate and reimbursable contracts
• Experience with corporate purchasing systems, in particular SAP
