Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue Internships 2013

The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (the HD Centre) is an independent and impartial organisation, based in Geneva, Switzerland, dedicated to improving the global response to conflict.
It attempts to achieve this by undertaking and promoting action to resolve armed conflicts through tailor-made support to peace processes, and by contributing to the improvement of the practice of mediation and the strengthening of capacity within the wider community of practitioners.
The success of the HD Centre's operations is dependent on the quality of its Human Resources. Our team is made of high quality project and support staff based in Geneva, Switzerland, and in some of the locations where we are active. At the HD Centre, we recruit qualified professionals who have an entrepreneurial approach to their work and are dedicated to making a difference in peace and mediation efforts in any part of the world.
Some vacancies are for short-term, highly-specialised consultants, as well as for permanent staff to manage projects and the smooth operation of the organisation. Permanent and other short-term vacancies are posted when they become available.

Internships

The HD Centre occasionally offers students an opportunity to acquire direct exposure and contribute to the organisation’s work through unpaid internships.
When internship positions become available, the HD centre will only consider students undertaking degrees in political science, international relations, peace and conflict, human rights, humanitarian law or equivalent. Eligible candidates must also be fluent in English.
Knowledge in pre- and post-conflict situations, conflict resolution and peacemaking, with experience in researching, analyzing and writing on political contexts will be strongly favoured.
Interested students should send their resume together with an application letter by email to: hrmanager@hdcentre.org.
