Commercial finance officer

Increasingly, Christian Aid is acting as a service provider on flagship development projects being run by commercial institutions and government departments such as the Department for International Development. By helping to manage the financial contracts involved in these, you’ll be helping individuals and communities around the world.
In our capacity as a service provider, we organise large international projects on behalf of other agencies, paying for services from other organisations where necessary. And that involves a lot of administration. It will be down to you to process that quickly and accurately. You’ll work on everything, from preparing month-end accruals and raising sales invoices, to working on the management accounts, to supporting the forecasting process. And everything you do will be aimed at adding value to projects like PACS, which is aimed at reducing the gap in wellbeing status between socially excluded groups in India and the rest of the population.
Strong accounting skills are essential for this role. You’ll have developed those in a computerised accounting environment. You’ll need to have a good knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and experience of posting to sales, purchase and cashbook ledgers. And if you’re already working towards an accountancy qualification, that’s ideal.
Please show your suitability for this post by giving answers to the following questions: Using the guidance notes may help you formulate your answers.

We value the contribution each person makes to the success of our organisation. That’s why you can expect a wide range of rewards and benefits, including a generous holiday allowance, an interest-free season ticket loan and flexibility that will ensure you enjoy a good work/life balance.
