COMMUNITY ASSOCIATE
INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS AND GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
 
The International Organizations and Government Affairs team is responsible for the Forum’s relations with the international community and international organizations. It also manages the Informal Gathering of World Economic Leaders (IGWEL) community, the foremost global gathering bringing together heads of state and government, senior ministers and heads of international organizations for restricted, off-the-record, private discussions pertaining to global governance issues. The team is responsible for devising the IGWEL programme and ensuring its seamless execution for Forum annual and regional meetings. The team also supports the managing director responsible for the regional teams on developing the Forum’s long-term strategic engagement with governments and international organizations and on identifying opportunities for governments to effectively collaborate on existing and new initiatives.
 
Your main responsibilities will include:
 
• Providing support to the team in developing and managing projects for the IGWEL, international organizations and the regional strategic engagement functions
• Doing research and compiling articles and publications on the key thematic portfolios that the team works on (such as trade, the post-2015 development agenda, energy, security, global governance, sustainability, etc.)
• Supporting the director and team members by providing ongoing administrative and coordination functions for projects undertaken by the IGWEL and International Organizations teams
• Providing support in the planning and execution phase of all team events as well as in the post-completion stage while ensuring effective collaboration with all other activities and in-house initiatives
 
More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
 
• Serving as administrative and organizational point of reference by creating tracking files, recording progress and back-dating the collective history of the team
• Working with team members to develop research portfolios on current events and global governance issues
• Developing a global calendar of governance trends and events which is continuously updated
• Acquiring advanced knowledge of software (including Excel, Word and Access) for event and constituent management while creating new project management and tracking tools
• Assisting the team in preparing presentations and documents highlighting the work of the IGWEL, International Organizations and Strategic Engagement teams, targeting in-house and external audiences
 
You have a Bachelor’s degree in political science, international relations, public policy, journalism, political economy, economics or a related field and 1-3 years’ experience in an international organization or an international corporation would be beneficial. A demonstrated knowledge of and interest in current and foreign affairs is essential. In addition, you have the ability to multitask to assist the team to navigate among diverse and challenging tasks and demanding deadlines. Project management experience and/or certification are a definite plus. Research and organizational skills will be essential for use across the spectrum of the team’s activities. You must be energetic and a team-player who will eagerly take on tasks and identify solutions to improve the team’s efficiency. You must be fluent in English (preferably native).
