Job PurposeTo support the planning and execution of regional communication programs through media relations, external and internal communications, event coordination and general program administration
Responsibilities
  • Write professional standard material for internal and external communications including but not limited to media releases, fact sheets, position and briefing papers, holding statements, speaking notes, executive correspondence – for use in all print and digital mediums (including social media platforms)
  • Monitor media reporting about the airline, its competition, and other relevant issues across print, broadcast and digital channels; identify and analyse key issues, produce daily management reports, and recommend appropriate responses to issues identified. Upload management-approved holding statements to the airline’s media centre, issues centre, and intranet to support timely and accurate communication
  • Research and provide corporate, product, service and schedule information to respond in a timely manner to requests from external and internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate the planning of and logistics for corporate events in the Asia Pacific region including but not limited to press conferences, media briefings and President and CEO market visits
  • Create and maintain an accurate database of regional media organisations and key representatives to serve as the primary tool for media stakeholder communication
  • Coordinate arrangements for media travel such as approvals administration, booking creation, communication with airport operations teams, NTO and product supplier liaison, travel document preparation and post-trip evaluation including editorial/ROI tracking
  • Support the team in the efficient administration of external agency relationships through timely collation and analysis of monthly activity reports; drafting of RFT documentation and supply contracts; and tracking of key deliverables/milestones
  • Develop, maintain and manage an efficient filing and retrieval system for all media reporting by issue or similar sub-category and for editorial generated through hosted media travel
  • Prepare POs and liaise with HQ to ensure invoices from external suppliers including for PR agencies are settled in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain an efficient and up-to-date resource centre of product/service and destination copy and images and videos to service media needs
RequirementsQualification & Education:
  • Educated to a minimum of university degree in a related discipline
Experience:
  • Post holder must have 2-3 years’ experience in a busy communications environment, ideally as a mid-level specialist in-house or agency public relations executive and experienced in dealing with people at all levels in a multicultural environment
  • Experience in the aviation or travel industry desirable
Training & Knowledge:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work autonomously and to think, plan, and execute resourcefully
  • Fluency in English is required, and additional languages are an advantage
  • Good knowledge of IT systems such as MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer, PowerPoint, Picture Editor
  • Ability to develop and maintain efficient information management systems
