Gender Equality Officer FTC –  £32,645

The usual recruitment rate for this post (Grade 3) is £32,645 with future pay progression within the pay band from £32,645 to £35,292.

Working closely with the Gender Equality Advisor, the Gender Equality Officer will have 3 key areas of work: Programmes –  provide technical support on gender in relation to fundraising for, delivery of and learning from the Building Skills for Life and Girls Fund portfolio of programmes as part of Plan UK’s programme strategy. 

Advocacy, campaigns and communications – proactively contribute to policy engagement in relevant networks and policy fora to support the effectiveness of our work and will represent Plan UK externally to raise the organisation’s profile and participation in current debates on gender equality. The Gender Equality Officer will also contribute to relevant policy and communications materials internally and externally.

Internal gender mainstreaming - support the mainstreaming of gender across Plan UK in line with the findings of the 2011 gender self-assessment and the update due in July 2013. 

It’s a fixed term contract, until April 2014, and it’s a full time post at 34.5 hours a week [– we finish at 4.30pm on a Friday].
