Project/Proposal Summary: MSI’s Democracy and Governance Outreach Training Project seeks to support the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Office of Democracy and Governance (DG), located in the Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA), to develop, design, produce, and disseminate electronic information and publications as a means of sharing information and lessons learned amongst DG practitioners; and contribute to professional development and outreach efforts through training curriculum design and delivery. These services will directly contribute to DCHA/DG’s mission of providing information and training that will enhance the quality and effectiveness of DG strategies and programs.
Position Summary: MSI seeks a Mid-level Project Manager to provide various support tasks related to the production of a monthly eZine and various other electronic publications, conference planning and management, supporting the development of distance learning training modules and other tasks as needed. This is a full-time position, based in Washington, D.C. at MSI headquarters.
Anticipated Responsibilities: • Ensuring production of conference materials. • Coordination with USAID DG office. • Manage and produce monthly eZine with other team members. • Plan training and conference sessions throughout the year with other team members. • Monitoring programs and budget. • Support training team in the development of distance learning training modules. • Work closely with other team members on several electronic publications throughout the year. • Limited supervisory role of junior staff and interns.
Qualifications: • Master’s degree (Communications, International Relations, other related area) with six years of experience or BA with eight years of experience. • Experience in international conference planning, project management, and electronic publications. • Previous experience managing USAID-related workshops, training and/or communications. • High attention to detail. • Ability to multi-task. • Experience acting as a liaison between government and organization members. • Supervisory experience preferred.
