Job Summary

Cardno, Inc. is seeking a Quality Manager to Develop a Quality Management Strategy for the Americas & Software Region that includes an approach to ISO9001 accreditation. The Quality Manager will manage the implementation and rollout of the Cardno Quality Management System (QMS) throughout the Region. The Quality Manager will also co-ordinate the consistent development, operation and maintenance of the QMS such that it effectively reinforces Cardno's commitment to:
  • actively managing quality and risk;
  • ensuring continuous compliance with legal obligations and the requirements of quality management and related Standards;
  • demonstrating to clients and partners our intent and ability to manage quality and risk.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Actively promote Quality within the Region and ensure the QMS aligns with the business.
  • Establish Quality governance structure including Quality Committee, QMS Forum meetings and Terms of Reference.
  • Contribute to Group HSEQ Committee as required, actively participate in Regional HSEQ Committee and Chair QMS Forum meetings.
  • Work with Divisional support teams to undertake training and educational activities and appoint Division Quality Representatives.
  • Establish local work instructions for Divisions within Americas & Software Region through consultation with the business.
  • Recommend appointment of selected external accreditation body to work with Cardno during the accreditation process.
  • Work with Regional and Global IT teams to further develop Sharepoint platform for Regional QMS.
  • Manage the development of tools to maintain a ‘user friendly’ and innovative QMS.
  • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of QMS certification including compliance, education and continual improvement.
  • Consult and communicate with Regional management teams regarding QMS requirements.
  • Provide timely support and advice to Division Quality Representatives and other staff within the Region on QMS matters and requirements.
  • Promote the use and value of the QMS and assist staff with queries regarding the QMS, including tender responses.
  • Transition of merger partners onto QMS, incorporating existing systems and processes.
  • Identification of high risk areas and planning to mitigate these risks.
  • Ongoing QMS initiatives to improve efficiencies across the Region.
  • Regularly review QMS KPI’s to ensure Divisions are maintaining a consistent standard and working towards continual improvement.
  • Provide training assistance (resources and tools) to be used to promote a high level of awareness and application of the QMS within the Region.
  • Participate in the program/coordination or completion of internal and external audits as required.​

Other Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years experience with Quality Management Systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Business or related field.
  • Advanced understanding of the fundamentals of quality systems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with all members of staff, including superiors, co-workers, clients and suppliers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and use initiative.
  • Analytical problem solving skills.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with Cardno QMS highly.
  • Experience in achieving ISO9001 accreditation.
  • Internal Auditor training.
