Duties and responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the resolution of employee dissatisfaction through the Grievance Procedure.
  • Address misconduct and incapacity by preparing evidence for hearings/enquiries as well as preparing witnesses for testimony.
  • Represent the institution at external dispute resolution forums such as the CCMA and private arbitration.
  • Mediate/facilitate discussions between employer and employee representatives to ensure the promotion of a productive and healthy work environment.
  • Train line managers and employees on topics related to the rights and duties of both the employer and the employees in matters pertaining to employee relations e.g. management of absenteeism, poor performance, etc.
Inherent requirements:
  • Relevant honours degree.
  • Five (5) years’ human resource working experience of which at least three (3) years must be in the field of employee relations.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English and Afrikaans.
  • Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email.
  • Valid driver’s license.
