Job Summary:

The Senior Manager of Corporate and Foundation Relations sets and leads the organization’s private sector and foundation partner strategies to advance EngenderHealth’s mission. To achieve this objective, the Senior Manager works closely with key Program colleagues, the CEO, Vice President of External Relations, as well as Communications & Marketing colleagues, and supervises a Manager-level direct report. The position will manage a portfolio of existing and prospective donors and will be the primary relationship manager and strategist for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of foundation and corporate relationships. It will play a lead role in developing the strategy to expand the current portfolio to new donor relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary strategist and relationship manager for a portfolio of existing and prospective corporate and foundation donors.
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategies for foundation and corporate partners with the greatest affinity and capacity to give to EngenderHealth.
  • Meet or exceed an annual fundraising goal, determined by the Senior Manager in cooperation with the Vice President for External Relations.
  • Supervise a Proposal Development Manager, who oversees the process of proposal and progress report development, as well as other written materials essential to stewardship and cultivation.
  • Serve as an EngenderHealth ambassador, and private sector and foundation liaison, and champion for our mission, actively building relationships with corporate & foundation leaders, affinity groups and influencers.  
  • Represent the organization at events and other forums critical to developing relationships with corporations and foundations.
  • Stay abreast of programmatic and other issues relevant to these sectors, and gather intelligence critical to informing strategic plans. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Certifications:

  • Master’s and/or other advanced degree in non-profit fundraising, Public Health, International Development or related discipline, and/or equivalent work experience in non-profit fundraising.
  • Proven success in building long-term strategies and cultivation plans that yield results. 
  • Five or more years of hands-on experience and demonstrated success in foundation and corporate fundraising and, in particular, with managing all phases of foundation/corporate donor relationships: strategizing, positioning, cultivating, soliciting and exceeding donor expectations.
  • Experience living and/or working frequently in developing countries preferred.

  • Proactive in seeking out, synthesizing, presenting and disseminating information relevant to foundation & corporate partners including information on new opportunities, emerging needs and trends, innovations, existing programs/projects, potential donors and partnerships, and programming/new business strategies approaches.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically up to 25% time.
  • Knowledge and experience with standard fundraising software, databases and foundation research tools. Proficient in office software (e.g., MS Office, Razor’s Edge, Privia, etc)
