Partnerships Officer
IICD is a non-profit foundation that specialises in information and communication technology (ICT) as a tool for development. IICD is active in Africa and Latin America where we bring about technical and social innovations that create and enhance development opportunities in education, health, economic development, and water and climate change. For maximum impact we work closely with partners from the public, private and non-profit sectors.
Our aim is to support our local partners in their efforts to formulate and implement their own ICT-led development policies and programmes.

The Community Relations Department is responsible for Northern partnerships (acquisition, management and reporting), publications (for knowledge and PR purposes) and communications (website and events). The team consists of 8 professionals and we are currently seeking an enthusiastic community relations officer in the role of:
Partnerships Officer
At IICD we are seeking to expand and diversify our partnership and marketing activities. The partnerships officer is responsible for: acquisition in the North, account management in the North, and production of PR materials and activities for our partners.
Summary of key responsibilities
Specific (partnerships)
· Responsible for acquisition with your Northern private and public partners, which includes proposal writing, corporate presentations, facilitation of partnership meetings, organising partnership events, budgeting for proposals and consultancies;
· Responsible for reporting and account management with your Northern private and public partners, which includes reporting on impact and results;
· Co-responsible for the concept and implementation of new acquisition activities for Northern partners;
· Co-responsible for production of public brochures and other communication products targeted at Northern private and public partners;
· Writing of news articles for the website regarding your partnership activities.
General
· Establishes and maintains effective working relations with IICD staff and communities in order to implement the community relations strategy, and produces intended results and use these relationships to identify new opportunities;
· Participates in meetings and presents information, proposals, results, achievements and recommendations as appropriate.
Specific knowledge, skills and abilities:
· 5+ years experience in professional partnership and fundraising acquisition;
· Advanced skills in the complete fundraising cycle: e.g. market mapping, partnership strategy development, negotiation, budgeting, facilitation and chairing of partnership meetings, donor relationship management, reporting and monitoring;
· Track record of successful fundraising activities with public and private sector Northern partners;
· Capable of writing convincing proposals for public and private sector donors;
· Used to work with fundraising targets;
· Excellent written, verbal, networking and interpersonal communication skills;
· Experience in creating PR-products and organising PR-events for public and private sector donors;
· Fluent in English (speaking and writing). Fluent Dutch, Spanish or French is a plus.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Master Degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Marketing, Public Relations, Fundraising, or any other relevant field;
· Expertise and knowledge of ICTs for Economic Development, Health and/or Education a plus;
· Knowledge and affinity with ICTs a plus;
· EU/Dutch working permit;
· Native English speaker a plus;
· Self-motivated, responsible, with proven commitment to continuous learning and self-development;
· Independent worker;
· Results driven;
· Positive, flexible and optimistic;
· Creative and entrepreneurial;
· High degree of professional versatility and hands-on capability;
· Convincing presenter for small and large groups;
· A team player.
