The Organisation
BG Trinidad & Tobago a major producing asset for BG Group, contributing some 27mmboe production per year with a strategic objective to increase this to 50mmboe per year by 2020. BG Group supplies gas to the domestic market and to Atlantic LNG with around two thirds of production being exported as LNG and the remainder going to the domestic market.
Position Summary
The East Coast Marine Area (ECMA) asset consists of the producing Dolphin and Dolphin Deep Fields, the sanctioned Starfish Field and near-field exploration opportunities within current PSC’s - Blocks 6, 5a and E. In addition to the existing production, there is significant growth potential from the current asset base from incremental projects in the existing fields, near field exploration and new developments.

The post holder will be a key member of the ECMA Subsurface Team and shall be responsible for leading Production Technology work & providing support to the ongoing development & production activities. He shall also be accountable for the management & maintenance of well models and reservoir management for the ECMA asset. As an experienced Production Technologist in the subsurface team, the incumbent is also expected to contribute towards mentoring of other engineers in the team with relatively lesser experience as well as contribute to functional excellence in petroleum engineering workflows. The key elements of the post are as follows:

ECMA represents the upstream component of the entire gas value chain, and as such is highly valuable and visible within BG Group. The role offers the opportunity to broaden ones experience across the mid-stream and contribute fully to realizing Asset value.
Key Accountabilities
The job holder shall be responsible for all Production Technology aspects of the operation of the Dolphin and Dolphin Deep fields and the post-sanction development work for the Starfish field (drilling and completion support). As a senior Production Technologist of the ECMA Team the job holder will work together with the subsurface team reporting to the Subsurface Team Leader. The key accountabilities of the role will be:

• Consider HSSE in every aspect of the job, including building safety into design and caring for themselves and those around them
• Use expertise to design and ensure delivery of effective production technology practices ( Well Completion Design, Sand Control & Management, Well & Reservoir surveillance, Production Excellence & Management, Well Intervention Planning & Field Operations, Coil tubing, Slickline & Wireline Oprations, Well Stimulation Design, Reservoir Management, Integrated Asset Modelling) to support all ECMA exploration, development and production activities.
• Define conceptual completion design for infill drilling and new field developments, incorporating techniques to control sand production.
• Provide relevant discipline engineering support to drilling and completion operations
• Well performance monitoring and modelling to ensure that the well operating envelope is optimised and the wells are managed appropriately.
• Effective use of the Production Data Management System (PDMS) to achive production excellence.
• Production system optimization: Work in collaboration with reservoir engineers in the use of integrated asset modeling to ensure that the Greater Dolphin Area fields are managed efficiently pre and post-compression.
• Reservoir and well surveillance: Ensure proper definition & planning of well intervention campaigns and incoporation of post-operation pressure transient and production log analysis into well models
• Production operations: Work with operations staff and Integrate Collaborative Environment (ICE) room to ensure safe well and facilities operating practices are followed.
• Responsible for Sand prediction, control and management which is a core activity for the Greater Dolphin Area where there have been well failures as a result of sand production.
• Proactively pursue production enhancement opportunities and lead definition and design of workover & sick well re-instatements.
• Provide experience-based guidance, direction and coach/mentor less experienced petroleum engineers in the ECMA and the NCMA asset teams.
• Work collaboratively with Well Engineering team on well site operations planning, programming and site supervision.
• Work with developments engineers to optimise development plans for Greater Dolphin Area and adjacent East Coast blocks & fields such as Block 5c and Manatee.
• Present technical work to BG Management, Partners and Government representatives, as required.
• Adhere to & steer the team through the production technology components of the BG Group Value Assurance Framework (VAF) policy and procedures.

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
• Be an experienced and versatile Production Technologist, able to demonstrate significant depth and breadth of experience in variety of aspects of Production Technology/Petroleum Engineering especially Sand Management, Well Stimulation & Completion Design.
• Hold a relevant technical degree (Masters Degree in Petroleum Engineering discipline or equivalent) and demonstrable track record of continuous training and development throughout career.
• Possess good hands on technical knowledge and experience of relevant Production Technology software (Petex IPM, Wellcat, PVTi, Saphir, Emeraude etc.) and workflows (PVT, decline analyses, nodal analysis, production optimisation, forecasting and integrated modelling).
• Demonstrate sound understanding of associated subsurface and other related disciplines (eg. Petrophysics, reservoir engineering, drilling, facilities, economics), with proven ability to operate effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Possess good IT skills using Microsoft Office products
• Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral with the ability to challenge others in a constructive manner.
• Be a team player with a proactive and flexible attitude, and able to work collaboratively and promote integrated working practices in a multi-cultural environment.
• Possess a genuine enthusiasm for Petroleum Engineering in its broadest context, and have a strong sense of self-motivation.
• Be a self starter with good decision-taking skills with ability to plan and organise workload effectively and a proven ability to work under pressure without sacrificing quality.
• Possess good problem-solving skills and the ability to handle large amounts of complex information in a detailed and coordinated manner and to identify the critical issues and workflows.
• Possess influencing skills to facilitate alignment of internal stakeholders, JV partners and BG Advance.
• Be committed to the highest principles of ethics, quality of work with a strong commitment to Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) objectives.
