Position Summary
This advert welcomes globally mobile applicants to apply and to be subsequently considered for multiple locations.
Completions and Well Integrity Engineer to provide completion engineering support and assurance to BG Well Engineer global asset teams in both existing and new exploration and appraisal well planning activities. To liaise with in-country well engineering operations teams and work in close collaboration with the assets and Regional Well Engineering Managers
Key Accountabilities
  • Be the go-to person for all completions and well integrity related matters
  • Provide technical support, perform technical reviews, and focus on assurance
  • Initiate, manage and perform Functional Reviews and Readiness Reviews as per the BG Value Assurance Framework Process
  • Support, challenge and provide direction to all completion well engineering related activities within the asset team
  • Develop Conceptual Completion Designs and Basis of Designs for new wells projects, as required by the assets
  • Provide specialist technical support to asset wells teams
  • Monitor progress, and provide support as required to well engineering operations team during well completions & testing operations
  • Peer assist and perform audit of completion & testing activities as required
  • Assure well designs and programmes meet BG standards, in particular with respect to well integrity and environmental policies.
  • Ensure asset teams perform and document a risk management process throughout the completions & test design and planning activities, and closeout actions
  • Rigorous use of the BG Value Assurance Framework process to ensure well planning process is in accordance with BG Standards
  • Introduce new technologies, methods and solutions to improve efficiency
  • Coordinate,  project manage and implement new technology development/projects with both assets and suppliers
  • Work in close collaboration with Production Technology function
  • Get involved in Contractor and supplier performance management
  • Monitor NOJV activities and liaise with Partner Well Engineering teams as required
  • Provide progress reports as required to both the Global Well Engineering Management Team and Asset teams
  •        International travel as required
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
  • Engineering degree as a minimum
  • Relevant industry experience, with operator experience preferred but not essential
  • Completions and well testing experience essential, with knowledge of drilling, production, geology, reservoir engineer disciplines desirable
  • Knowledge in one of the following fields, well test, downhole sand control, hydraulic fracturing, deepwater and intelligent completions
  • Good understanding of well testing and production applications
  • Advanced knowledge of industry normal practices associated with testing, work-over, wire-line and completion operations
  • Understanding of well control techniques and tubing stress analysis
  • The engineering criteria associated with completion, testing and production operations
  • Recognition of importance of HSE and embedding good practices.
  • Familiar with API & other recognized industry standards & recommended practices
  • Understanding of Geological and Petroleum Engineering priorities and well associated requirements
  • Well budgets and cost allocation and monitoring; cost optimization techniques
  • Good knowledge and skills in use of applications software for well/completions design
  • Internationally mobile, travel as required
  • Good communicator all levels, clear presenter internally and externally with an ability to influence
  • Cultural empathy
  • Team player, able to lead a completions & testing team and work under own initiative; self-starter
  • Open and honest; integrity
  • Technical confidence and independence to progress tasks with minimal supervision
