ADE is a private consultancy company based near Brussels. It supports decision-makers in formulating, implementing and evaluating public policy choices in various fields. ADE has three main areas of specialisation: public policy evaluation, assistance to macro-economic reforms and to regional development, rural development and environment. Its main clients are international institutions and agencies, national public institutions, bilateral and multilateral development organisations (www.ade.eu). 

We are currently looking for an experienced professional medium or senior level to reinforce our Rural Development and Environment Department. 

The Rural Development and Environment Department is in charge of providing advice and conducting studies, especially evaluations in the field of the Common Agricultural Policy, Rural development and Environment, mainly in Europe, and, to a lesser extent, in third countries. Developing advice and studies in third countries is among the strategy of the department.

Job description

• Responsible for conducting and managing studies, including a Team Leader position;
• Design evaluation methodologies and tools;
• Organise and supervise quantitative and qualitative research and analysis tasks;
• Take a leading role in interviews and in country visits (EU countries and Third countries);
• Develop commercial contacts and participate in business development;
• Bear the final responsibility for deliverables and presentations to the clients;
• Project management;
• Responding to calls for tenders;
• Team management;
• Representing ADE to its clients.

Profile

• A university degree at MA or PhD level in agronomy/economics. A specialisation in environmental economics or management being an asset;
• Min. 8 years of professional experience in the field of rural/regional development, environment or structural funds, or ACP countries;
• Knowledge of EU policies is an asset;
• Professional experience in conducting research/studies/evaluation;
• Demonstrable research and analytical skills;
• Demonstrable writing and presentation skills;
• Resistant to stress and deadlines, high energy level;
• Knowledge of main computer softwares;
• Demonstrable organisational and planning skills;
• Experience in the management of team and coordination of projects;
• Autonomy in contact with clients and stakeholders;
• Fluency in English and French, other languages being an asset.
