We do this by offering a good price for these products and then reselling them across the globe, using various online and offline sales channels. Since 2009, more than 200.000 people in the Netherlands have entrusted us their used products. Our company’s sustainable, entrepreneurial and innovative approach has received much attention from the public and media.
We are a young team of 22 employees based in Amsterdam. Currently we are expanding into Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Therefor we are looking for a Senior Web and Software Developer to join our IT team.

Purpose of the job
Development, realization and implementation of an enterprise wide IT system and policy in line with the overall organisation plan.
Your tasks
Main area 1: Technique, building and maintenance
- Responsible for development of:
- E commerce web development
- (Mobile) development of websites
- ERP web application development
- Architecture of in-store web applications for retail chains
- Architecture: MySQL (=data base design)
- And Design of Data Base architecture
- Architecture of hardware and network
- Crons
- Maintains data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act; and ERP systems;
- Responsible for external product feed integrations;
- Responsible for service desk set up and management for external and internal stakeholders;
- Responsible for maintenance of website and web systems;
- Responsible for technical changes done by technical and development teams.
Main area 2: Payment Gateways
- Development, realization and implementation for European payment system;
- Advising on improvement for payment systems;
- Establishes needs of users and monitors user access and security;
- Monitors performance and managing parameters to provide fast query responses to front-end users;
- Responsible for development for back end IT system integration Payment Gateways: SEPA, PayPal, Credit Card and Logistic Gateways.
Main area 3: Development of enterprise-wide IT policy
- Responsible for efficient and effective development of IT policy;
- Sets up IT year plan, in cooperation with IT Director, in line with organisation strategy and vision;
- Develops software solutions;
- Development of ERP System particularly in warehousing, stock management , finance, accounting, customer service, livestock and product feeds;
- Development, implementation and realization of B2B Systems (eBay and Amazon) and related logistic system;
- Responsible of developing and implementing IT year plan & budget, in cooperation with IT Director;
- Advises on improvements for IT policy;
- Informs periodically to IT Director about effectiveness of and opportunities for IT policy.
Main area 4: Realization and implementation of IT policy.
- Responsible for efficient and effective realization and implementation of IT policy ;
- Responsible for translation and implementation of IT policy to operational IT year plan;
- Responsible for decisions and advise related to operational feasibility;
- Responsible for realizing documentation, flow charts, layout, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code for effective IT policy;
- Implementation of logistics applications;
- Advises on improvements related to realization and/or implementation of IT policy.
Main area 5: Management and communication
- Manages internal and external teams and / or partners and stakeholders;
- Manages, supervises and monitors performance of IT projects in role of a team leader, in cooperation with IT Director;
Your profile:
Job requirements are:
- Education: A relevant Bachelor Degree in Computer Science
- Work experience: Minimum of 5-7 years relevant work experience (of which minimum of 3 years as an IT team leader) in an international business, with work experience in:
- Development, realization and implementation of web architectures in PHP, Zend and .Net., E-commerce platform, Crons, ERP, logistics applications and reversed E-commerce platforms and systems, data base design, B2B systems and payment gateways;
- Development of ERP System (particularly in warehousing, stock management, procurement, finance, accounting, customer service, livestock and product feeds);
- Development of back end IT system integration, specifically for :
- Payment Gateways (SEPA, PayPal, Credit Card)
- Logistic Gateways (GLS, FedEx, PostNL and UPS);
- Development, implementation and realization of B2B Systems
- Knowledge of profit & pricing policy, marketing for affiliates tracking
- Development, realization and implementation of logistic system related to B2B system;
- Experience with European payment system:
- Queuing, payment files, logging, payment security, sequencing and grouping
- Experience in working with external product feed integrations with eBay and Amazon;
- Excellent knowledge of English language (both written and spoken);
- Self-starter and able to handle stakeholders requirements with ease.
Your skills: Being reliable and quality orientated is natural to you. Judgement, decisive and persuasive skills are requested. Shows (team) leadership and good collaborator skills and you are stakeholder & organization sensitive: that’s you. And last but not least, sense of humour.
