The Organisation
We are committed to maximising the exploration and production potential in Europe E&P. We are currently integrating our BG Norge and UK Upstream assets to better support a future of growth and investment in the area. This will deliver a more sustainable future and robust business proposition for Europe E&P, as well as enhanced development opportunities for individuals across the combined teams. With a joint portfolio producing over 100 kboe/ day, our goal is to continue building a truly excellent Exploration and Production business in Europe E&P.
Position Summary
We are currently recruiting for a Communications Assistant on a contract basis, initially for six months.
 
The candidate will be part of a small team and will have the opportunity to be fully involved in key communications projects within the organisation, working with a wide range of communications channels and helping to implement them across the UK and Norway offices. This is an extremely busy and varied role, so you will have the ability to multi-task and work to a high standard. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed.
Key Accountabilities
Assist in the development of a wide range of communications channels, from initial concept to final completion, ensuring smooth delivery
 
Update and manage content on the employee asset intranet site
 
Provide editorial support
 
Support in the production of brochures, posters, signage, exhibitions, adverts and e-newsletters
 
Help maintain brand integrity on all communications by acting as a brand ambassador
 
Assist in sourcing appropriate venues for events, including logistics and supporting communications materials

Support the sourcing of corporate merchandise
 
Liaise with third party providers such as photographers, printers, designers, promotional companies and venues
 
Perform any other duties in support of the Policy and Corporate Affairs (PCA) department

    Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
    Essential:
     
    Must be degree educated, ideally from one of the following degrees:

    - Corporate Communications
    - Public Relations
    - Events Management
    - Journalism
    A self-starter with strong communication skills
    ‘Can do’ attitude, enjoys problem solving
    Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    Strong attention to detail and administrative/organisational skills
    Must be proficient in all Microsoft programmes
    Desired:
    Ideally with professional membership in the CIPR
    Previous work experience, ideally related to communications
    Additional Information for External Candidates
    Some travel may be requiredto attend/support events and communications activities in the UK and Norway.
     
    Candidates will be required to demonstrate writing/editorial ability at the interview.
