The Organisation
QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets.

We are establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a carbon efficient fuel.

QGC, which is wholly owned by the British energy company BG Group, employs more than 4,300 staff and contractors.
Position Summary
The role of the Construction Community Liaison Officer is to provide a strong link between the community and QGC through engagement activity and communications.

The role is critical for ensuring delivery of communications to Gladstone region stakeholders during the construction period, including message development, meetings and briefings. The role is key point of contact for stakeholders impacted by construction activities and will also be pivotal in the design and planning of engagement schedules for the SP Team.

The incumbent will also assist with other Social Performance activities including social investment and impact mitigation partnerships and project and participation in community events.
Key Accountabilities
Position Specific

• Manage identified stakeholder relationships.
• Social investment and impact mitigation partnership and project management activity.
• Public relations activity including identification and development of promotional content and leverage opportunities.
• Develop strategies, plans and schedules for public engagement activity, including meetings, briefings and presentations.
• Identify impacts and develop messaging to inform of construction impacts, letters to residents, notices and information sessions.
• Maintain familiarity with contract obligations of EPC contract, construction activity schedules, regulatory conditions and permits, including data collation for compliance reporting.
• Maintain contact with interface points including contractors to ensure alignment of all QCLNG public communication.
• Monitor construction work schedules and EPC reports to identify dates for activity identified as triggers for public communication.
• Monitor public satisfaction with construction related communication and activity.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with the community and other team members.
• Assist the Social Performance Team with associated projects and activities.
• In addition to these duties, perform such other duties as may from time to time be assigned by your manager.
People Management• The incumbent must adhere to the annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Experience

• Experience in contract management in a major project environment an advantage
• Previous experience working closely within the construction field in a similar role
• Demonstrated experience in public relations activity
• Previous experience developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
• Gladstone local or regional knowledge
 
Knowledge, Languages, Skills and Attributes
• Demonstrated ability to effectively relate to, liaise and communicate with governments, media contacts, the community and other team members
• Understanding of QGC business and objectives
• Awareness of issues influencing company reputation
• Proven time management and organisational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook experience and skills
