Background / General description:
The Syndicated Loans and Management Department (CSL) is currently seeking a Syndications Analyst in its Syndicated Loan Management Division (“CSLLM "). CSLLM manages a growing syndicated loan portfolio of approximately $12 billion representing 160 projects and working with over 170 financial institutions and development finance institutions (”DFI’s”). The portfolio has steadily increased in the past several years as a result of CSLLM’s broadened mandate which not only includes managing B Loans in portfolio but also Agented Parallel Loans with the Development Finance Institutions. In particular, the division is responsible for any issues affecting IFC’s syndicated loan portfolio including: (i) fully understanding IFC’s contractual responsibilities to B Loan participants, and parallel lenders through our role as Administrative Agent and making decisions accordingly; (ii) managing restructuring approvals with B Loan participants and parallel lenders; (iii) managing the consultation or consent process for all amendment or waiver requests with B Loan participants and/or parallel lenders where we act as Administrative Agent; (iv) handling all participant/lender correspondence; (v) monitoring and distributing all financial and project information; and (vi) ensuring smooth handling of all funding issues.

Duties and Accountabilities:
1. Reviews company and project information for project setup.

2. Monitors compliance of borrowers and sponsors with IFC financial, environmental, insurance and legal requirements; reviews covenant compliance and supports processing of required waivers and amendments.

3. Reviews legal documentation to support operational /credit issues and administration of B Loans and Agented Parallel Loans.

4. Understands and utilizes IFC systems in order to provide administrative support to all lenders.

5. Gathers IFC syndicated loan portfolio data for presentation and analysis.

6. Monitors B and Parallel Loan exposures on problems loans undergoing restructuring or workout.

7. Helps the officers in the group to enable quality supervision of syndicated projects by providing credit and documentation related support to internal and external clients.

8. Develops and maintains quality client relationships internally and externally.

Selection Criteria:
1. (Under) graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related specialty from a reputed university.

2. Solid minimum two years experience with a leading financial institution preferably in project finance, corporate finance with experience in portfolio supervision and/or syndicated loan agency.

3. Understanding of international and/or syndicated loan market including knowledge of online bank market research tools

4. Experience with loan documentation and credit issues

5. Excellent organizational, administrative, multi-tasking and time management skills with proven ability to work promptly and efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

6. Strong ability to communicate ideas clearly and confidently with good presentation skills.

7. Strong interpersonal skills utilizing tact and diplomacy and the ability to work with large, culturally diverse and geographically dispersed teams at all levels (inside and outside IFC).

8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
