Position Summary
This role will provide analytical, operational and administrative support to S&O Commercial Operations and the wider LNG Trading & Marketing team.
Key Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities include:

Analysis:• Maintain and update the system used to manage BG’s relevant sales and purchase contracts (Global Contract Management system) including tracking the number of cargoes delivered to each customer and other contractual obligations.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis around commercial issues and opportunities in support of the LNG trading and marketing business.

Support for Asia Contract Manager to manage SPA operational requirements:• Annual Delivery Program (ADP) and Ninety Day Schedules (NDS)
o Co-develop ADP and NDS with S&O Optimisation team regarding delivery programs, vessels, etc.
o Track cargoes delivered per Contract Year including date movements, scheduled volumes vs. actual delivered volumes.
 
• Interface with counterparties (external/internal), such as:o Assist in liaising with external counterparties when discussing ADP and NDS documents
o Meeting contractual deadlines, for example: narrowing delivery date ranges and nominating vessels
o Provide vessel ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) notice requirements, cargo measurement procedures, cargo document requirements and customer contact details to internal Vessel Operators as well as counterparty, where relevant
o Liaise with S&O Optimisation team and Vessel Operators on requests (including delays or advancements) by counterparty
o Facilitate heel optimization internally and with counterparty as needed

• Invoiceso Update finalized volumes and confirm prices in the scheduling system, Endur
o Request invoice raising to Backoffice once prices & volumes are updated and ensure invoices are issued accurately
o Review cash forecast report to ensure it matches actual invoices and estimated due dates are accurate
o Track provisional invoices
o Ensure correct funds are received / sent based on invoices
o Send original invoices to customers

• Enter cargo schedule changes related to portfolio transactions accordingly:o Review the ad hoc physical cargo schedule day change reports to verify all changes are reflected accurately and have been approved by the Com Ops team
o Review specific cargo schedule changes created by the Optimization team

• Ensure customs requirements are fulfilled, where relevant

• File all applicable documents in Documentum or in the current system of record – including but not limited to:o Invoices
o Ninety Day Schedules and Annual Delivery Schedules
o Notices to/from counterparties
o Confirmation Memoranda
o Master Sales Agreements

Confirmation Memorandum:• Review Confirmation Memorandum (CM) reflecting terms & conditions outlined by the LNG Trader
o Liaise internally to ensure accuracy and compliance with the Master Sales Agreement or Sales and Supply Agreement
o Once CM is ready to be executed, draft and circulate the internal approval document (Authority For Signature – AFS) to obtain all the necessary approvals from various departments within BG.
o Keep track of nomination deadlines as specified in the relevant CM

Other Contract Documents:• Draft, when applicable, and review other Contract Documents as necessary including: Side Letters, Amendments, and Surveyor Agreements etc.
• If necessary, when the contract document is ready to be executed, draft and circulate AFS to obtain all the necessary approvals from various departments within BG.
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Knowledge:
• Degree in Technical, Commercial, Shipping or Financial related field
• Knowledge of Shipping, LNG or gas industry commercial concepts / principles and terminology
• Computer knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), modeling capabilities would be beneficial
 
Skills & Attributes:
• Strong influencing skills
• Commercial acumen
• High level of numeracy, analytical and problem solving skills
• Effective communicator – should have clear verbal and written communication skills
 
Experience:
•  Able to work independently & under pressure, to organize and prioritize workloads so as to keep several projects progressing to completion, simultaneously, with little or no direction 
• Able to effectively support negotiations that lead to business closure
• Able to effectively deal with ambiguity and build scenarios to facilitate decisions or recommendations 

  • Ability and willingness to:
a. Formulate plans to reach objectives without direction or supervision
b. Perform paralegal work under the supervision of attorneys
c. Conduct a wide variety of research involving significant initiative, discretion, critical thinking analysis and judgment
d. Identify issues, evaluate alternatives and make recommendations

 Unique Feature:
• May be required to travel within Asia to visit counterparties
• Will work on a trade floor environment, fast paced, dynamic and often noisy.
• Role is in an operational department and will often require working during evenings, weekends & holidays; laptop and Blackberry will be provided.
