Responsibilities include and may not be limited to tasking that impacts the design and fual operation of hardware, software, and computer interfaces.
Test and evaluate aircraft systems using system engineering principles to optimize performance, cost, quality, safety.
Research and develop test objectives to determine if system requirements have been achieved in accordance with approved Functional Requirements Documents (FRD’s)
Conduct developmental lab, flight, and ground testing of system hardware and software.
Develop and document test points and test procedures for hardware and software components, and evaluate system performance.
Monitor system deficiencies to determine problems, and retest corrected problems to ensure proper software functionality.
Responsible for post-mission report writing, submission of Software Anomaly Reports (SAR’s), data collection, analysis, and posting of data to the common data sharing system.
Maintain oversight of system requirements and provide inputs to applicable planning documents and test plans.
Required to participate in weekly meetings supporting the Mission Systems Task Team, SCS leads, Product leads, system developers, and contractors.
Review and provide inputs/recommendations on system requirement documents (NATIP, TEMP, MSOFD, MPOFD, FRD, etc.) to ensure accuracy.
Learn and maintain proficiency in the use of data analysis tools, systems, and software programs.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to local and external personnel at other designated test sites including NAWCAD-Patuxent River and NAWCWD-Pt. Mugu.
Position will require occasional travel. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance .
