Position Summary
Reporting to the Group Technical Authority for Geomechanics (Line Manager) & Head of Petrophysics (Parent Manager) the post holder will be responsible for assisting BG Advance create geomechanics models in support of drilling and completion operations world-wide, design data acquisition plans and interpretation strategies in support of exploration, appraisal and development activities for gas/oil reservoirs, and contribute to gemechanics technology projects.The post holder will be required to develop their knowledge of geomechanical technologies and interpretation concepts in these areas, implement these concepts to develop practical workflows, and effectively engage with other members of the subsurface and petrophysics community to help embed those workflows throughout the business, by using the company approved software tools at an expert level. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

The position will be required to use their specialist knowledge of tight gas/oil formation evaluation and field development, and to use that knowledge to develop new workflows and techniques. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Experience Needed: The post holder will be expected to be able to develop their knowledge and experience of developing and utilising geomechanical technques to improve formation evaluation.
They should have a strong background in physical/ earth sciences, and have excellent numerical and software skills (including experience of software programming).
Candidates will be expected to have significant knowledge and experience in creating geomechanics models and interpreting data in support of real-time operational decisions.
Specialist Knowledge/Skills:
The post holder will be expected to:
- Have good problem solving abilities and a good eye for detail. - Have excellent team working skills, as well as an ability to interface effectively with other subsurface disciplines and external contractors - Have a strong academic background in physical/ earth sciences, and specialist geomechanics experience. - Be able to present and report their work in a clear and timely manner, to a variety of stakeholders. - Be able to produce work of a high standard. - Be computer literate and have the aptitude to adapt and learn new software. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
