INTERN, ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Prepare and review project-related research, writing and project materials and documentation under direction of environmental group Manager
  • Conduct research and writing as assigned for Kenya proposal development
  • Prepare materials for program roll-out as needed  
  • Develop communications and marketing material for an upcoming conference including preparation of a presentation on community forestry.
  • Support and execute program implementation activities as required
  • Ensure project deliverables are produced in a timely fashion
  • Coordinate and ensure distribution of project deliverables and reports
  • Assist with reporting requirements of contracts and agreements
  • Interact with other IRG program staff as needed to complete project tasks.  
  • Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in developing countries especially in East Africa is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to manage and organize multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; English fluency required
  • Ability to successfully coordinate and communicate with all management levels Experience with USAID projects is preferred
  • Demonstrated interest in environmental and natural resource issues, including forestry

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Pursuing or completion of a Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., international development, environmental policy) is preferred
