Accion, serving the states of Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas, is an award-winning nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the tools entrepreneurs need to operate, grow or start their businesses. We increase access to business credit, make loans and provide training to help entrepreneurs realize their dreams and to help businesses thrive. 
ABOUT THE JOB: 
Accion is a values-driven high performing organization that has financed the start-up and/or growth of over 5,000 businesses since 1994. In our first year lending in Nevada, we have provided over 100 loans totaling more than $1 million to local entrepreneurs. We are looking for a bilingual (English/Spanish speaking) community lending officer to join our growing Las Vegas team.
Community lending officers serve as Accion ambassadors in the community, cultivating relationships, building referral networks and a community of support for the clients we serve. The role is especially focused on business development outreach, visiting businesses on a regular basis to build relationships and to understand/serve credit needs.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Support Accion’s strong relationship culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service, and superior product knowledge;
  • Lead clients through all stages of the lending process from origination to loan closing;
  • Develop referral relationships with community partners such as banks, local chambers and small business development centers;
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of loan new loan applicants;
  • Structure and close loans based on monthly goals; 
  • Perform educational outreach.
Qualifications:
  • Community lending officers must have a passion for helping people and a gift for building relationships;
  • Excellent business development and outreach skills;
  • Equally excellent execution skills for closing loans and providing outstanding customer service;
  • One to three years of professional experience and a bachelor’s degree are required;
  • English/Spanish fluency preferred.
