ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: 
Sa-Dhan (www.sa-dhan.net) is the association of community development finance in India with a mission to help its members and associate institutions to better serve low income households, particularly women, in both rural and urban India, in their quest for establishing stable livelihoods and improving their quality of life. We have been recently recognized as a Self Regulatory Organization (SRO) by the RBI. 
Sa-Dhan is looking for the professionals interested to take up a challenge in furthering the mission of Sa-Dhan in the East Zone. The primary responsibilities of the State Coordinator will be to represent the Association at the Zonal level, act as an interface between the Head office in New Delhi and the MFIs in the states in this zone
ABOUT THE JOB: 

Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Develop region specific action plans arising out of Sa-Dhan’s overall action plan;
  • Developing and maintaining close relationship with the state administration to influence local policies. Also to develop and maintain close relationship with the local offices of the Reserve Bank, NABARD, SIDBI, commercial banks, other developmental institutions and stakeholders;
  • Regular interaction / visit to members of Sa-Dhan in order to keep the head office updated on their issues and concerns;
  • Coordinating state/region level meeting of members on a periodic basis and with the other stakeholders in the region  on issues related to the expansion of microfinance services;
  • Organizing state forum meetings;
  • Collecting data for Sa-Dhan publications and other Sa-Dhan surveys as applicable;
  • Addressing needs of members by facilitating platforms for cross learning among them in coordination with the head office;
  • Identifying resources and prepare a directory of the same for ready reference and availability;
  • Liaison with print and electronic media in terms of dissemination/education on issues related to microfinance sector;
  • Sa-Dhan membership coordination, membership growth, regular contacts and visits to members in the region, identifying their needs and establish flow of information with the head office;
  • Supporting programmes / interventions of Sa-Dhan at the regional  level;
  • Undertaking and assist Code of Conduct Assessments and capacity building programmes of members;
  • Assisting in Grievance Redressal and dispute resolution;
  • Prepare and submit a monthly report to Sa-Dhan head office. 
Qualification:
  • The candidate should hold a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Rural Development, Economics, Social Sciences, or other related discipline;
  • At least 2-3 years’ relevant experience in the microfinance or development sectors;
  • The candidate should also have experience and understanding of providing technical and capacity building support to organisations at the community level;
  • We are looking for a dynamic self-starter with good experience in policy and advocacy work with strong written and verbal communication skills. The candidate should have reasonable experience of working in the area of microfinance and an understanding of MFI operations. Experience of working with multiple stakeholders in civil society and the government at different levels will be a plus;
  • The candidate should have good communication and presentation skills. Fluency in English and Hindi is essential. Knowledge of regional language would be an added value.
