Assistant Education Manager

  1. Mission of the Department: To ensure a high performing WWF International Office with efficient operating systems, professional and skilled staff, and strong financial resources, delivering corporate responsibility partnerships and fundraising for WWF’s priority conservation activities in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region.
     
  2. Major Functions: The Assistant Manager Education is part of the team responsible for the education outreach programme of WWF Singapore. This education outreach program aims to bring conservation education to the local school community whereby individuals are given the opportunity to develop a stronger commitment towards conservation through engagement and experiences.  
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Education Manager to produce resource and communication material for the Eco School programme
  • Maintain regular communications with participants of the Eco- Schools Programme and ensure compliance to deadlines for submissions and other programme requirements
  • Support the Education Manager in the development, implementation, and review of activities in the programme
  • Support the Conservation on the Move programme by delivering talks and briefings, as well as attending to school booking requests
  • Overseas learning  trips – planning of itineraries and logistics, implementation (including pre and post trip sessions,  including teachers/students and managing vendor)
  • Education Events Management ( Beach clean-up and BBQ, Day Camps, Forest walk, WWF Open house) – Planning, logistics and customer service
  • Resource and communication – assisting education manager in teacher survey, collecting feedback, curriculum research and publication of resources and newsletters
  • Grants and awards assessment – assisting education manager in SOPs (application forms, criteria, disbursement/awards assessment – assisting education manager in SOPs (application forms, criteria, disbursement/ awarding)
  • Conference- Planning and implementation of conference by liaising with teachers, students, schools and overseas guests/teachers
  • Workshops- Planning of programme outline, lesson objectives, aligning to WWF campaign outcomes
  • Managing Stakeholders (Managing relationships with teachers and students at various points such as conference, events, trips, workshops, including parents)
  1. Profile: 
Required Qualifications:       
  • At least three years’ working experience in a similar capacity
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Education, Marketing, or a related field 
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Ability to conduct classroom training, group facilitation and hands-on engagement.
  • Good computer skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Words and Excel.
  • Good organization and interpersonal skills with ability to function in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Fluent spoken and written English. 
  • Flexible, resourceful and able to perform despite tight schedules
  • Has a strong stakeholder focus and service-oriented attitude
  • Plans and organizes/ manages the job independently and pro-actively
  • A strong interest in conservation

  1. Working Relationships:
Internal – Works closely with the Director of Communications, Campaign Manager, Communications Manager and the Marketing and Corporate Engagement team.

External – Coordinates with education practitioners (including principals, teachers, administrators and related personnel), partners and related parties.
