ABOUT THE JOB: 
As a member of the Pro Mujer International (PMI) executive management team, provide leadership in the area of information technology (IT).  Interface with PMI executive management team, board of directors and external donors to ensure alignment and implementation of the IT strategy within the broader PM strategic plan.  Lead the IT department’s strategic direction and manage all IT policies, programs and schedules for all PM locations. Establish and ensure compliance with key IT policies for the organization.  Oversee all data processing, computer services, network communications, and management information services to accomplish organizational goals and objectives.  Lead and manage a diverse IT technical team. 
Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Develop strategic plans, aligned with PM strategic goals, to meet the information technology needs of the organization and ensure that IT capabilities are responsive to the needs of the company's growth and operational objectives;
  • Advise senior management on IT strategic initiatives and recommendations in support of business goals and objectives;
  • Coordinate the operation of IT Steering Committee, provide periodic reports to the PMI board of directors and participate in PMI country boards and board committees as needed;
  • Participate in executive level operational reviews and policy-making committees;
  • Maintain close relations and communications with country managers and PMI functional directors;
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures;
  • Prepare annual IT objectives and budgets to facilitate the implementation, management and operations of all information technology functions;
  • Effectively lead IT team located across various countries including recruiting, training, development and evaluation of staff;
  • Develop and establish IT policies and procedures for computing and information technology. Ensure alignment and compliance at the country level;
  • Identify emerging information technologies and innovations to be introduced within the company;
  • Evaluate, select and implement a new multinational system for core banking and financial management, reporting and forecasting which would provide an integrated management capability and global financial statements for the entire organization;
  • Evaluate new software system options, conduct cost-benefit analysis, and oversee procurement and implementation of new software systems for the entire organization;
  • Responsible for the development, review, and certification of all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans;
  • Main point of contact with software vendors. Responsible for contract negotiation and relationship with vendor, including ensuring Service Level Agreements are met;
  • Develop and implement a migration plan for current legacy environments to modern cloud based architectures;
  • Direct the information security and data integrity for the organization;
  • Oversee the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages;
  • Oversee ongoing defect correction and improvements to operational systems;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A learning focused leader that understands how to develop the talent on his/her team with ability to motivate a diverse IT team located across Latin America;
  • 7+ years of experience in information technology management in an international organization, with a focus in business process and improvement, and strategy development;
  • 3 - 5+ years of experience in a leadership role (CTO/CIO, or equivalent), in mid to large size organization that works in low income countries;
  • Professional written and verbal communication, cultural and interpersonal skills in English and Spanish;
  • Ability to write and speak Spanish is required;
  • Deep operating experience in a banking environment, with knowledge in development and financial inclusion;
  • Hands-on knowledge of modern technology architectures such as browser based, mobile computing, database and cloud infrastructures;
  • Hands-on knowledge of and experience in current global technology capabilities and trends across applications, platforms, tool sets, and infrastructure;
  • Experience with implementation of information technology integrations in a large division / company with multinational presence;
  • Extensive experience in contract negotiation, administration and vendor management;
  • Able to consistently produce results within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several complex projects;
  • Significant experience and knowledge of change or process management;
  • Program and project management know how;
  • Masters level graduate degree in Information Technology/Computer Science and/or M.B.A. preferred, or equivalent background;
  • Work requires willingness to travel extensively throughout Latin America (20-40% of the time).
