Regional Manager, Nairobi
Competent Negotiator – Commercial Mindset – Skilful Networker

Nairobi, networking and negotiating

As a regional manager for JGH Marine, you will have a challenging and exciting job in an international company with great potential and ambitions. You will live and work in Kenya in a compound situated in a quiet, safe and attractive suburb of Nairobi.

You will be responsible for the full sales cycle and for ensuring the continuous growth and development of JGH Marine in the East African region and will continuously aim at growing and maintaining the company’s network of officials from local authorities. You will need to keep your finger on the pulse when it comes to where and when a new RFP may arise and will be responsible for preparing proposals and negotiating contracts. Furthermore, you will be responsible for monitoring ongoing projects and following-up on production plans, i.e. at JGH’s shipyards.

You will play a central role in the JGH team and will be responsible for staff in East Africa including the daily management of the seven employees in the Nairobi office.

You will refer directly to the director and owner of JGH Marine, who is working at the Copenhagen office, and will travel an estimated 70-100 days a year; primarily shorter travels in the East African region.

Ambitious and with a commercial mindset

You have probably held an international job within shipping or trading. You have experience in negotiating public B2B contracts in developing countries; alternatively you have held responsibility for your own larger sales budget target in an international context and have delivered proven results.

You thrive in a challenging environment, possess good networking skills and have a good nose for business. Additionally, you are a strong negotiator, succeed in whatever you set out to do, are self-motivated and good at building relations.

You hold a higher commercial degree and master English at business level. Knowledge of  Portuguese and French would be an advantage but not a requirement.

Attractive terms, influence and career possibilities

You will be offered a job in a successful international company built on entrepreneurship and innovation, which takes action when opportunity knocks.

You will be part of a team where the chain of command is short and fast, where the tone is straightforward and where you will have a great opportunity to set your mark on the development and success of the company.

You will work in the Nairobi office for 2-3 years and thereafter be able to continue your career at the JGH office in Copenhagen or elsewhere in the world. You will be offered an attractive remuneration package, great career opportunities and a large house in an attractive Nairobi suburb with a high-quality international school within short distance.
