Mozambique-Conservation Manager

WWF Mozambique Country Office is seeking to recruit a highly qualified and competent individual to fill the vacant position of Conservation Manager on a Fixed-Term contract of 02 years renewable.
 
Location: Maputo, Mozambique.
 
Main responsibilities:
 
Under the supervision of the Country Director, The conservation Manager will lead the implementation and management of the WWF Mozambique Country Strategic Plan  (CSP) ensuring its on-going alignment with national priorities and with the Global Programme Framework and Global Goals and ensuring strong delivery on and achievement of the WWF Mozambique Conservation KPIs; She/he will be responsible for Providing guidance to technical teams to ensure high quality of technical reporting, and ensures that the Country office reports on all monitoring tools on time and with due quality.
 
What you need:
 
Required Qualifications and experiences:
 
Minimum of MSc degree in an appropriate field e.g. environmental science, biodiversity conservation, natural resource management, ecology and other related fields;
Additional academic training in a management field would be a strong asset;
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in leading, developing, and managing programmes / large-scale projects in one or more of the above-mentioned fields; 
Knowledge of the institutional and legal framework of the environment and conservation in Mozambique, as well as of relevant policy issues.
 
Required Skills and Competencies:
 
Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic plans and policy;
Strong skills in project planning, financing, management, implementation, and evaluation;
Experience working with government and with donors / government aid agencies;
Excellent inter-personal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels
Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and preferably Portuguese.
