Expert for Financial Administration
in Havanna, Cuba
The post is to be filled 01 March 2016 and has a contract term until 31 December 2016. The office is located in Havanna, Cuba.
Objectives and responsibilities of the position
As the Expert for Financial Administration, you are responsible for the financial-administrative implementation of our projects in accordance with the framework specified as regards content, time schedules and finance. The project is partner implemented. The jobholder works together in an intercultural team with personnel of the partner organisation.
Your most important duties are as follows:
  • monitoring and ensuring orderly financial and material planning (bank transactions, accounting, budget control, equipment) and internal project settlement
  • supporting the Head of Project with the preparation of project/co-financing budgets with regard to formal correctness
  • preparation of final financial reports and financial statements pursuant to the contractual specifications of the third-party donors of funds
  • orderly administration of project inventory
  • providing instructions and advisory services to national administration staff
  • ensuring full and orderly human resource management
Your qualifications will include:
  • a university degree or polytechnic degree or business training with additional special knowledge in e.g. accounting and controlling
  • several years of project-relevant experience in the administration of co-financed projects of international aid organisations, preferably in this region
  • coordination and organisational skills - even under a high workload
  • EDP knowledge (knowledge of financial software is considered an asset)
  • a very good command of Spanish and English, both written and spoken
