Job Description

Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development (Pacific Women) was announced by the Australian Government at the Pacific Island Leaders' Forum meeting in August 2012. It commits up to $320 million over 10 years in the 14 Pacific Islands Forum members. 
Pacific Women aims to improve opportunities for the political, economic and social advancement of Pacific women. It does this through a focus on four distinct but interconnected objectives:
1.    Increase women's leadership and influence in decision-making, including at local government level.
2.    Increase economic opportunities for women.
3.    Strengthen national responses to violence against women and provide expanded support services.
4.    Enhance knowledge and evidence to inform policy and practice.

Cardno is managing the Pacific Women Support Unit which is responsible for supporting the Australian Government's implementation of the Pacific Women program.

Purpose of the Role
The Finance and Administration Assistant will deliver high quality administrative, logistical and financial support to the Pacific WomenSupport Unit team and require an ability to work in all of these areas with initiative, efficiency and commitment to service whilst building strong and respectful relationships with clients and stakeholders. A large component of this role will be in coordinating events and travel including preparation of documentation and resources for these events; and office management.

Duration
An initial contract of 2 years with possibility of extension.
