Job Summary
ATC is a national engineering/consulting firm that specializes in environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, and construction materials testing and inspection service. ATC is recognized as one of the nation's leading practitioners of Environmental Consulting, Engineering and Testing.
ATC is seeking a Construction Materials Technician in our Lafayette, IN office.
Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
> Read and understand blueprints and specifications
> Communicate effectively with ATC engineering staff and contractor
> Follow ATC directives and standards
> Perform field testing and inspection of construction materials and activities and accurately record test results and daily filed observations.
> Perform all job functions within ATC safety guidelines
> Field work performing Construction Material Testing activities on various construction sites in various locations
> Assist other departments as necessary

Basic Qualifications:
> High school diploma or equivalent
> Ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions
> Reasoning, mathematical and language skills (read, write and speak acceptable business English)
> Strong interpersonal skills
> Physical strength, stamina and dexterity to lift and move 70 lbs, stop, bend and stand throughout the course of up to a 12-hour work day in varying weather conditions in varying terrain
> At least two (2) years experience with concrete, soils, and asphalt testing is preferred, but not required
> Valid Driver's license with good driving record required
> Must be familiar with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
> Experience in Construction Quality Assurance is desirable
> Ability to travel as necessary for job related duties
> Nuke gauge certification preferred
> Ability to pass criminal background checks
> ACI, NICET, ICC, INDOT or other certifications preferred
