PSI/Tanzania is searching for short term technical assistance to serve in a Marketing Consultant role for a 3 month period. We are seeking a person who possesses excellent analytical and problem solving skill and a passion for using data to make strategic decisions, deploy budgets and resource to deliver results in a cost effective way.
This position will be based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
The responsibilities included for this consultancy will contribute to this agenda.

Your contribution
  1. Support all strategic and operational aspects of the marketing department including supporting implementation, development, and reporting of workplans and budgets.
  2. Review and refine executional workplans to strengthen link to broader strategic objectives and donor impact targets
  3. Conduct assessment of marketing team development needs using marketing competency framework and scale resulting in team individual development plans and a prioritized set of key off-job training requirements to HR
  4. Develop tools and indicators to track and monitor progress against key milestones and budgets and updating key stakeholders on a regular basis
  5. Support identification, recruitment, and orientation of the new Head of Marketing and the Marketing Manager for HIV.
  6. Support innovation department on management of key projects including e-referral platform development and Total Market Landscape Analysis for commercial mosquito nets.
    What are we looking for?
    The basics
    • Relevant post-graduate degree (MBA, MIA, MPH, etc.) or equivalent experience in related field
    • Knowledge of PSI & or FMCG methodologies in marketing, research and communications an advantage
    • Minimum 7 + years professional work experience
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
    • Previous experience working in a cross-cultural environment, preferably in Africa
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
    • Proficiency in English required
