VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT FOR CHIEF

EXECUTIVE OF TEMESA

The Public service Recruitment secretariat was established accordance with section No.29 (1) of the Service (Amendment) Act No.18 of 2007.One of the functions bof this organ is to advertise vacant posts occurring in the public service and recruitment process.

On behalf of the Tanzania Electrical, Mechanial and services Agency (TEMESA), Public service Recruitment secretary invites qualified Tanzanians to fill vacant post of the chief Executive officer in the aforementioned institution. The Tanzania Electrical, Mechanical and services Agency (TEMESA) is an agency under the Ministry of work. It was established by the Executive Agency Act No.30 of 1997 as amended by the Executive Act No.13 of 1997 as amended by the Executive Act No.13 of 2009 through G.N 254 OF 26TH August, 2005.

Under the Act the Agency is responsible for provision of efficient and effective electrical mechanical and electronic services reliable and safe ferry transport services and hiring of equipment to government institutions and the public at large.

Therefore, Public service Recruitment for secretariat invites qualified Tanzanians to fill the post of the chief Executive officer.

1.0 CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

The chief Executive reports to the permanent secretary-Ministry of works.


a) Main Duties and Responsibilities

To coordinate the implementation of the Agency’s mandate

To manage the overall operations and resources of the Agency

To prepare and its budget to the Ministry for approval.

To implement the approved strategic and business plans and to ensure the stated targets are achieved

To prepare annual reports and financial statements for submission to the Ministry

To undertake any other duties as may be assifned by the ministry




b) Qualifications and Experience

Holder of Master Degree qualified in Mechanical/ Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Engineering Management

Must be registered with Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a professional Engineer

Work experience of not less than twelve (12) years in the relevant field of which at least five(5) years in Managerial positions

Computer literacy is essential.


c) General Terms and Conditions of Service for the post

Successful candidate will be appointed for a period of five years or for any other period not exceeding five years as

may be specified in an instrument of his appointment and shall be eligible re-appointment.

Competitive remuneration and other benefits will be provide as may be approved by the President’s Office-Public service Management from time to time




d) Remuneration

The succeful candidate will be offered remunerations commensurate with the Agency’s remuneration schemes


e) Mode of Application

All applicants have to be citizens of Tanzania
