Director: Compliance, Forensics and IT Audit
All-inclusive remuneration package: R685 200 per annum

Pretoria

Purpose: To provide strategic leadership for the Directorate: Compliance, Forensic and IT Audit. This includes planning, managing and executing, where applicable, compliance, forensic and IT internal audits in accordance with National Treasury’s Internal Audit policy and procedures and the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA Inc).

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with majors in Accounting and Auditing
  • A degree in Law and/or a higher diploma in Computer Auditing will be an added advantage
  • Certification as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), CISA, CA or an Admitted Attorney is preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of internal audit principles, specifically legal compliance auditing experience
  • At least five years’ internal auditing experience, of which three years should have been in legal compliance auditing, IT auditing or forensic investigations at a Senior Management level
  • An understanding and knowledge of the PFMA, Treasury Regulations and the Public Service Regulatory Framework.


Key outputs:

  • Develop, implement and monitor compliance, forensic and IT methodology in line with the overall methodology of the unit • Identify areas where internal audit may be of further assistance to Management in the achievement of the goals the and objectives of the Department
  • Closely monitor and manage resources, continuously aligning and focusing effort to maximise productivity
  • Ensure that audit clients are regularly and timeously informed of audit commencement and progress
  • Conduct individual staff performance reviews after each audit and performance evaluations on a bi-annual basis
  • Ensure adequate and quality output to clients and other stakeholders
  • Manage relationships with client management and other stakeholders
  • Perform strategic resource planning and develop the required skills for the National Treasury’s Internal Audit Unit.
