Duties & Responsibilities:

The Executive Director will oversee all management aspects of the MRCT's functions. The MRCT Executive Director is a critical member of the central leadership team and reports to the co-chairs of the MRCT Executive Committee on all programmatic activities. The Executive Director will develop, refine and implement the overall strategy and vision for the Center. The MRCT Executive Director will be responsible for identifying projects related to the MRCT mission and goals for sponsorship or implementation by the MRCT, for developing those proposals, and for recruiting stakeholders who may want to join or support the MRCT. He or she will also be responsible for planning and budgeting, planning/facilitating meetings, managing MRCT staff/projects teams and day to day interactions with stakeholders.

The MRCT Executive Director will also report to the Executive Director of the Harvard Global Health Institute (HGHI) to ensure financial compliance and administrative oversight of the Center.

This position is initially funded as a three year term appointment.

Basic Qualifications:

Significant experience with the conduct of clinical trials, global clinical trial challenges, bioethics, and laws and regulations relating to clinical trials and human subjects research. Five or more years of clinical research or clinical research operations experience. Experience working with the following institutions: academic research institutions, , pharmaceutical and other life sciences companies, IRBs/research ethics committees, international NGOs, researchers and research institutions throughout the world.

Additional Qualifications:

Advanced degree(s) such as MPH, PhD, JD, MD, preferred. Solid understanding of laws, regulations and professional standards (U.S. federal and state, non-U.S. national, and international ) governing clinical research. Demonstrated experience working with multiple internal and external constituencies. Direct IRB related experience. Thorough knowledge of research compliance with managerial and fiscal experience. Superior interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to problem solve and thrive in a dynamic environment.
