Director, Emergency Fundraising

The Director, Emergency Operations will lead emergency activities across Resource Development (RD) and work collaboratively with Web/Social Media team to maximize funds raised for rapid onset emergencies, the Children's Emergency Fund and Disaster Risk Reduction. S/he will serve as the Alliance Coordinator for all declared emergencies.

Responsibilities • Develop, monitor and communicate progress on overall emergency fundraising strategy, work plan and revenue projections. • Lead RD rapid onset emergency fundraising activities: Work with Department of Humanitarian Response (DHR) to monitor rapid onset events to ensure timely launch of fundraising efforts; Lead RD Emergency Team meetings; Communicate activities and results, including revenue raised; Lead cross departmental emergency marketing work for RD, serving as central point of contact for information flow between RD departments, DHR, PAC, Web/Social Media, Finance, Legal, and OOP. • Serve as primary support to the Alliance Coordination in Emergencies team for Save the Children International • Develop and continually improve strategies and marketing materials for the Children's Emergency Fund product and our work with Disaster Risk Reduction • Continually improve RD emergency fundraising operations with constant attention to optimizing our speed to market for major events • Provide revenue and activity reporting • Handle all other emergency activities as assigned. In 2012, this will include a focus on Japan. Requirements

• Bachelors Degree required • At least 8-10 years experience in a non-profit or academic fundraising setting • Background in fundraising operations required • Previous experience supervising interns or temps • Global business knowledge and cross-cultural experience and sensitivity • Creative problem solver • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills • Persuasion and collaboration skills a must • Solid skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel spreadsheet and graphing
